艾殊利楊格自薦下仗出任球隊正選前鋒

曼聯剛剛在英超中以3:1擊敗利物浦，升至聯賽第3位。而接下來，他們將會在歐聯小組賽面對荷蘭勁旅PSV燕豪芬。不過，由於隊長朗尼受傷的關係，故正前鋒還沒有確定誰將會正選上陣。
上仗面對利物浦，雲高爾便派遺本來是中場的「爆炸頭」費蘭尼出任單箭頭，雖然最終他未有取得入球，但還是有著一定作用，故外界認為雲高爾將繼續以他作為正前鋒挑戰PSV。
除了費蘭尼，上仗成功後備入替並成功攻入一球的新小將馬亞度，也有可能會擔任正選前鋒上陣。
對於正選前鋒這個位置，除了以上球員，艾殊利楊格也表達了自己願意去踢前鋒的意願。楊格表示，如果雲高爾希望他踢前鋒，他沒有任何問題，因為他能夠勝任場上多個位置，不過這個決定權在領隊手上。

引用If the manager wants me to play there, then yes, of course I would. I can play in lots of positions and I have done that under the manager, whether it’s up front or in midfield. Hopefully I can play there (through the middle), but it’s up to the manager and he has to make those decisions.

對於正選前鋒這個問題，楊格表示雲高爾曾與他談起過，而他目前應該相當頭痛。

楊格又表示，他希望下仗能夠重返球隊的正選位置，他認為所有球員都是希望可以擔任正選的，故他也不例外。他希望自己能夠多上陣，而如果像上仗面對利物浦時後備上陣的話，他希望可以向領隊證明自己已經100%隨時準備好比賽。
