Abramovich will let Chelsea fans make up his mind over Villas-Boas
Chelsea fans will have an influence on Roman Abramovich's support of manager Andre Villas-Boas.
The Daily Star says though Abramovich is keen to give the young coach time, the tycoon is likely to have a change of heart if supporters turn again Villas-Boas and the team.
Scores of fans streamed away from Stamford Bridge early as Chelsea lost 2-0 in the Carling Cup to Liverpool on Tuesday night – their third home defeat in four matches.
There was a smattering of boos at the final whistle and Portuguese coach Villas-Boas knows how important it is to keep the fans onside.
“For now Villas-Boas is safe,” said one of Abramovich’s advisers last night, but it is understood the Manchester City match could be the crucial to the 34-year-old’s future.
