雖然仍舊以積極、樂觀的形象示人，但是客觀來講，保亞斯的日子並不好過，一貫以儒雅和風度著稱的葡萄牙人似乎也越來越不能控制自己的脾氣。11月22日，英足總發佈了一項處罰決定，對保亞斯在與昆士柏流浪隊賽後的言論處以12000英鎊的罰款，以示警告。在10月23號的比賽中，車路士作客0比1負於對手，氣憤的保亞斯當面怒斥球證福伊判罰不公，之後便因「行為不當」的罪名遭到足總指控。車路士官方表示，他們會給保亞斯一定的時間來考慮是否提出上訴。
自從保亞斯接手車路士以來，葡萄牙人就花費了很大力氣對車路士進行全面改造，尤其是在進攻方面，他著手引進了梅利斯和馬達，這對林柏特的主力位置形成了一定的衝擊，車路士「神燈」也一度只能坐在後備上。近期也有媒體爆料，與碧咸合約到期的洛杉磯銀河隊希望能夠引進林柏特以增強球隊實力，但是狀態回升的林柏特已經明確表示自己不會離開斯坦福橋，並且表達了希望與車路士延長合約的願望，他在接受《標準晚報》採訪時說：「我的合約還有兩年，我願意與球隊續簽合約。只要球會需要我，我就會留下來，儘管有關於我未來的各種傳聞，但是毫無疑問，我會留在車路士。」

Chelsea boss Andre Villas-Boas concedes his defensive players are still adjusting to his tactics.
However, he insists his players are enjoying his new system.
"I don't think any kind of answer I can give you would explain what has been happening," Villas-Boas said.
"We have set out to play in a different way.
"We have set out in every game to win. We don't speculate in games. We take the initiative in terms of ball possession. We create the most amount of opportunities. We are on the right track.
"It can take more or less time, but that's not an excuse for the results we've been having.
"The focus is on us to try and turn those results around. The more the focus is on us, the more we have to respond."
There have been reports some players are unhappy with the new approach but Villas-Boas said: "We think - me and the players - that it's the right way. They are enjoying what they're doing.
"You need results to gain this consistency and the confidence to play at this level and keep the philosophy.
"But the philosophy will be the last thing that will be changed. We are happy with the way we are playing."
