Chelsea loanee Jeffrey Bruma is confident he still has a future in west London, and says he looks to club captain John Terry as being the type of player he would like to emulate when he returns to Stamford Bridge.
The Blues youngster has been sent out on various loan spells to continue his development since signing from Eredivisie outfit Feyenoord, and is currently plying his trade in Germany with Hamburg.
Bruma also impressed on a short-term deal with Leicester City last season, and the 19-year-old hopes that it won't be long before he is given an opportunity by new boss Andre Villas-Boas.
With an emphasis placed on youth development since the arrival of the Portuguese tactician, the Dutch defender is optimistic that his patience for a first-team chance will pay off, and he is confident that taking inspiration from the Blues' skipper can stand him in good stead for the future.
"Without wanting to make others short, he has always been my example since childhood," Bruma told Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf.
"Terry was my tutor at Chelsea, [he] invested quite a lot of time and energy in me and even sent me text messages when I was loaned out to Leicester City. His level is my aim."
