Chelsea striker Danny Sturridge doesn't expect an early season ban to wreck his first team chances.
He will miss Chelsea's opening Premier League games after seeing red during Bolton's final outing against Manchester City last season.
And Sturridge is determined to build on the two goals he netted as the Blues defeated Rangers 3-1 on Saturday when he does return to action.
He said: "It has been a difficult pre-season because after finishing playing in the Under-21 Championships I didn't have much holiday before coming back in.
"But the manager has involved me a lot which I have been very happy with.
"I am just going to train very hard and once the ban ends I hope I will be in the manager's plans."
