眾所周知，即使利物浦前隊長謝拉特離開了利物浦轉去美職繼續他的職業生涯，但作為土生土長的利物浦人，謝拉特當然依然對利物浦「念念不忘」。
係利物浦正式開季前，謝拉特係洛杉磯拍了一段 30秒的影片表示支持利物浦，以及祝利物浦能夠有成功的一季。並表示即使離開了利物浦，但依然會繼續觀看以及支持利物浦各球員，亦希望利物浦能夠係季尾贏得一些獎盃令利物浦球迷開心。

“Hello to everyone back home. I would just like to take this opportunity to wish Brendan, all his staff and all the players to have a very successful season.
